Whitnash Primary are proud to have displayed our children's amazing artwork in the gallery space at East lodge in Jephson Gardens throughout the month January. In this space was used to showcase some of our children Artwork linked to a whole-school project. Throughout the month of December children created pieces for the gallery with the theme of 'The Seasons'. We were keen to display a range of work from Reception all the way to Year 6 from painting to mobile hangings, textiles and more. We felt that this not only provided a great whole-school opportunity, but also showed the progression of art skills throughout the school.
We were also keen to create interest in this gallery work by involving children in a school competition. We encouraged children to develop their skills in photography and capture an amazing Autumn or Winter artistic nature shot. We had all sorts of amazing photographs sent into school ranging from shots captured on a woodland walk, close-ups of a frosty flowers to sunsets.
The best photograph received a small prize and all children who entered were rewarded with a certificate. The photos captured by the winners, and others, were displayed in the gallery in January.
