Homework ensures that the partnership

between home and school

supports children's learning.

It is our aim that home and school

will be equal partners in this.

Homework reinforces the class work

covered during the school week.

Homework encourages children to feel

confident and supported in their learning.

Children will receive regular feedback

from their class teacher for their homework,

this may be in the form

of a class discussion, a 1:1 conversation

or a written comment.

How you can help

Please can you ensure:

  • Your child completes and returns their homework to school on time.
  • You sit with your child whilst they complete their homework, please can you encourage them to present their work neatly and to the best of their ability.
  • You sign the homeowner log at the front of your child's homework journal to show your child's teacher that you have seen the completed homework.
  • Read with your child at least 5 times a week.
  • Talk to them about what they are reading and discuss with them their thoughtsabout the book, what they think might happen next, how the story will end.Please ensure that a comment is recorded in your child's reading record.

for your child to select from.

Spellings will also be sent out on a Tuesday

to be tested the following Tuesday.
