Meet The Governors

Contacting The Governing Body

The governing body is always happy to

discuss its work with members of the school community and members of the board are often in and around school when informal contact can be made. Governors also attend major functions and parent’s evenings during the year when conversations about their work

or issues of general interest can be discussed.  Failing this the Chair of governor’s can be contacted in writing via the school address.

Issues or queries relating to the overall

provision of education are professional

matters for the headteacher and all queries should be referred to her for discussion and resolution. The headteacher makes herself readily available to discuss concerns with parents and governors feel sure that issues can be speedily resolved through this route. In the rare event that this approach is not able to resolve the issue satisfactorily the governing body has adopted a complaints procedure which can be found under the policies section of this website. The Chair of governors will only become involved in individual issues of concern as part of the due procedure set out in this policy.

The role of the Governing Body is to support

the school in delivering the best education

possible for the pupils. Governors are not

responsible for the day-to-day running of the school (that's Mrs Ellison’s job) but to monitor  and evaluate the school's progress and ensure accountability.

The Governors attend termly meetings to

review the school development plan and

discuss the quality of learning being provided for your children. Standards, teaching and learning, finance, health and safety and links with the community are also discussed.

The Governors serve for a period of four years and represent a variety of groups from the local community.

During the school year 2020/21 the governing body agree to work as a full body for all meetings in order to ensure that all new governors have a full understanding of all aspects of the life of the school.

The Governing Body 2023-24

Kevin Mullis - Chair of Governors

Date Appointed: November 2022 (re-elected)

Category of Governor: Parent Governor

Responsibilities: Chair, Leadership, Finance, Building Expansion, Pupil Premium.

I have been a parent governor at Whitnash Primary School since 2018 and was delighted to be re-elected to the governing body for a second term in 2022. I have also served as Chair of Governors since 2021 and it has been a privilege to play a part in the growth and development of Whitnash and the governing body over my tenure. The particularly challenging period of 2020-2022 made our philosophy of the 'Whitnash Family' even more relevant than it has ever been.

Outside of Whitnash I have worked in refrigeration engineering for the past 20 years and am used to quickly assessing situations and finding solutions - I like to think this comes in handy for governors as well!

Hello, I'm Idan, a proud father of three wonderful children who bring their energy to Whitnash School every day.

Over the past decade, my career has been dedicated to assisting gaming companies in building robust analytics teams, establishing data strategies, formulating effective business strategies, gaining insights into consumer behaviour, and optimizing their products.

My journey has taken me from the vibrant city of Tel Aviv to the picturesque Isle of Man, and now I call the welcoming community of Warwick my home.

Before venturing into the gaming industry, I proudly served as an officer in the Army. I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics, as well as an MBA.

Since 2022, I've had the privilege of being a part of the school governor body.

My goal is to contribute to the creation of the best possible educational experience for both the children and their parents.

I live in central Leamington and work in engineering training and development. I joined the governing body at Whitnash because my day job amplifies the importance of early education for shaping our futures, with a particular passion of mine being promoting women in STEM.

I believe that all children should have the opportunity to explore their passions and learn through a diverse curriculum in an inclusive and supportive environment and it is a privilege to be a part of the governing body supporting Whitnash to provide that opportunity.
